How to live sustainable , raw and and (mostly) fruitarian lifestyle in Cold Climates during winter??
Is it possible and moreover keeping the intake of fats by 10-12% ???
Im not a big fan of apples or other stone fruit, here and there in smoothies its ok , even as a soaked-dry fruit ok, but its not going to
make the staple of my diet.
So I have come up with some strategies spending (part) of this winter for the second time in a colder climate...
Remember: You hit home runs not by chance but by preparation - Roger Maris
Here my top-ten list:
* Bulk up on concentrated and warming food like DATES. I´ve been ordering 20kg and may consider ordering 100kg this winter. (if you are quick enough place in your bulk-http://thenofrontiers.blogspot.com/p/products_12.htmlorder for this Special,Special Date Co-oP Project I have on right now)
* Find some wholesaler so you´ll be able to stock up bananas and let them ripe properly as an addition to your DATECTION (date addiction)
Get in contact with people that operate a vegan-vegetarian catering business and ask them to collaborate-help you buy bulk produce to distribute like a fresh fruit&veg co-op.
This can be bought at the various raw online stores , im not going to post them all since they are many but I like VITAKEIM.DE in Germany. They dont sell cacao and are not PURELY money-oriented (having other projects in mind). Tell them you came trough me and you will have 5% discount. I like their cashew bags.
* Consider some greens like sunflower greens to add to your green smoothies when nothing in the wild is available.
Easy to grow at home. No need to buy expensive greens if you cultivate your own.
* Dry some berries, apples, plums in autumn in a solar dryer, theyr a great addition to your smoothies and quiet potent VItamin-Rich in winter.
* Do Exercise, I know most people Do, just when your cold, do Exercise, its cool in winter, no I mean its warm haha.
* Chop your wood (extra excersice: carry water). Wood is still reasonable and sustainable way of heating your house. You can plan a centralized warm-water heating system heats the rooms of your household
from one stove. (Plant some trees to balance it out)
A pic of today :)
* Invest in Solar Panels, for daylight saving and light bulbs, as some other electricity (PCs)
I know it may cost initially, but nowadays in Europe you may even get some financial support from the councils. Ask your council and in your neighbourhood for the best options. Consider to look the movie the 4th Revolution - EnergyAutonomy here
* Turn off your TV and do some creative writings, painting, music, reading. Winter is the best time to fill your time with such activities.
* Save some money and buy a ticket, If its getting to cold: Freak of to the Tropics!!! :))
